JOY TO DRIVE by
Joe Anstett
this is an excerpt from the articles
appearing in the EAGLE
I knew a few years ago it was time to get my first sports car, and that it had
to be a convertible. I knew right away that finding a combination of the two
would limit my choices. The first thing that came to my mind was Firebird. Let
me tell you, it’s hard to find one of these babies. I searched the lots of every
Pontiac dealer in sight for months, no luck. Finally I came across a dealer who
happened to have one on order for the showroom. I’d have to wait 4 months for
it, but I put a deposit down and decided it was worth the wait.
When the car was delivered to the dealership, I knew I made the right decision.
This car was a beauty. Completely fun to drive.
What’s ironic is that between the unusual
color (maple red metallic) and the rarity of convertible Trans Ams, a lot of people
are taken aback by the car’s good looks.
This car is a joy to drive every day.
