ok i have a 78 firebird and the problem i'm haveing is,i have dash lights but i don't have head,tail or brake lights any help would be much appreciated.thank you ???

are the hazard lights working?

first thing to do is check the fuses.
next, check all the ground points. 

for the front lights there are 2 one each end of the radiator core support.

the rear lights are ground in the trunk.

there is a ground behind the left kick panel.

there are other grounding points, but they do pertain to the lights.

you can also add a ground,  from the NEG- side of the battery to the core support.

if all grounds and fuses look good. I would guess your light switch is bad.
