Title: 1969 w no VIN tags is there a # stamped on frame ?
Post by: skiprec on January 11, 2007, 12:07:27 AM
I am looking to get what I believe is a 1969 Firebird , altough I am not 100 % sure it's a 1969 . It looks like the VIN plate on the dash has been removed as there is just a square hole where I think it should be . No vin plate or decal on driver's door post pillar . Is the number stamped any where on the frame. core support ? Thanks in advance ! Skip

There should be other VIN numbers (or partial VIN numbers) on the car.  There should be some sort of tag installed on the firewall of the car.  There would also be some digits of the VIN number stamped on the engine block and also the transmission case.  There ra eno other VIN numbers located on the frame of the car.  Some of the older Vette's and such had numbers on the frame and various locations, but Pontiac did not.
