Title: Help! Code 44 Check Engine light

I found a code 44 associated with my check engine light.  What is a code 44?

I guess it would help if I added that the car is a 1984 Trans Am with the L69 5.0 liter HO.  All stock as far as I know.  The car also runs rough during idle after warming up.  It also has a tendency to quit when going into reverse or going into 1st gear.

You must have a 3rd gen. If I remember right that's an O2 sensor lean reading.
