Title: No spark
Post by: may2021 on April 22, 2021, 11:35:47 AM
I am working on a no spark for days. I cannot find a direct answer to if a stand alone ignition coil mounting bracket needs a ground to operate? And does the ignition module need a good contact to distributor plate for ground? I do have new heat sink on back of the module but one of the module mounting bolts broke. I will fix this once i fix my no spark. Currently its pretty secure by one bolt and distributor cap.

Thanks a lot in advance. I have an 89 with a 305 tpi.

It sounds like module needs a good ground, The coil can operate without being bolted down.
Also check the pick up coil in the distributor
