Title: Upper Control Arm Shaft Bolts
Post by: august2021 on July 12, 2021, 10:42:36 PM
I need some advice. I had my front suspension done. The shop said that my upper control arm shaft bolts needed to be replaced. Now the shop said its not the bolts. It is the holes in the frame that are stripped. The shop wants to weld the bolt to the frame. Is this right?

The bolts are supposed to have knurls on them and press into the frame  Maybe the bolts are worn out. If anything, I would tack some metal back into the frame and then hammer the bolts back in and let the narrows grab the new weld. Do not weld the bolts in.
