Title: OLDS 403 TRANS OPTIONS
Post by: MILKTRUCK on January 15, 2008, 03:47:40 PM
Hey-I'm looking for some info on what options are available as far as transmissions to bolt up to an olds 403 engine I have installed in a 1964 Ford F-350 milk truck. I would like to put a truck 4 speed manual trans behind it. is there a bellhousing available to do this? I am retired & on a slim budget & cannot afford $35 to join your organization, but would greatly appreciate any info you could give me. thanx Phil Amonette, PO Box 321, Silt, CO 81652

The Olds 403 came stock with the Turbo 350 automatic transmission behind it.  I have seen people bolt up 4 speeds to this engine using a universal bellhousing.  Check out some of the performance shops for universal bellhousings and what would fit that bolt pattern.

The Olds 403 came stock with the Turbo 305 automatic transmission behind it.  I have seen people bolt up 4 speeds to this engine using a universal bellhousing.  Check out some of the performance shops for universal bellhousings and what would fit that bolt pattern.
ok cool. i was hoping maybe there was a cheap way to do this (ie junkyard) guess i will save my pennies & go that route. i really like the 403 for power, but i hate automatics, esp in a truck. thanx for the reply & info.
