Title: 73 TA decals
Post by: niceTA on October 22, 2006, 01:40:43 PM
Hey. New member here. Just bought a 73 TA with 455 auto that I hope to be restoring soon. Question is were there any 1973 Trans Ams with the stripe and the small nose decal or were they all the large hood screaming chicken? Thanks.

I'm no expert, but Ive been looking at 70-74 for awhile, and alas, all of the 73s have the chicken. If youre restoring it, unless its a really original numbers matching car, I would do it up like a 72, looks cleaner and classier. Totally legit. Just my opinion. Shoor me some pics if you get a chance at giordano4909@rcn.com. Im just starting looking for a 71-72 preferrasbly, like to see whats selling out there, cars are in such limited numbers. Congrats though, and good luck.

Yes, 1973 was the start of the large bird on the hood.  The stripes down the center of the car ended in 1972.
