What's Up With Barrett-Jackson?
« on: January 20, 2010, 01:12:52 AM »
I checked the auction list onlne and saw that a 1989 T/A Pace car with less than 7,000 original miles was crossing the block today. I turned on the t.v. to watch, grew excited as they drew closer to the lot number, (54), and then a commercial. When the auction came back, they showed the last bid(23,000) and the pace car rolling off. But at least they showed all of lot 60, a 78 T/A which had been modified with a 455 and went for 30,000. Don't they know that the 89 is what I call my realistic dream car??? ??? ??? ???

I don't care for the show. I love the cars.  It's shows like that , that drive the price of them up. so Joe Blow cant afforded his dream car.  then you got these guys that have a car, that they watched sell for $1xx,xxx.xx and they think there rusted out no#'s car is worth that.  what was it? on Wednesday or something. a t/a sold for 34k  a red non #'s car. it was nice. but not the 3?k it sold for.

It just goes to show that emotion plays a large part in the buying of the cars as well. I would find it next to impossible to find that 89 pace car, with less than 7,000 original miles for 20K. I might have to get a letter of credit from my bank and go to the next show that sells the TA pace car on day 1. Of course, maybe that was the secret. There were a lot more bidders later in the week.
