I just need to know what the factory gear ratio is on a 2001 Trans Am so I can program my transmissions speed sensor to accept new gears.
       Thanks for your time!  I am a new member and will be going by "HAHNSBIRD" when I find my registration card w/ membership number and finish registering.

that info should be on the RPO code tag on your drivers door.

I have a 2001 TA WS6 and I have the gear ratio to codes in a book. You can also find out by putting car in neutal and spinning the driveshaft and seeing how many times it goes around. I will list them for you on here within the next few days.

Ok, here is the are numbers and they will be on the drivers side door jamb. I got these from a JET PERFOMANCE item manual, so they should be correct for 93-02 Camaro/Firebird V6&V8.

GM8=2.56
GU2=2.73
GU3=2.93
GU4=3.08
GU5=3.23
GU6=3.42
