1969 Convertible 400
« on: March 19, 2007, 12:51:58 PM »
Hello, the 1969 400 convertible is my dream car.  I've been looking for 8 months and have found the first one that has everything I want.  The major problem is that the odometer is broken and the current owner doesn't know the cars history.  How worried should I be about a broken odometer and do you have any suggestions on how to title search a 69 auto with a 13 digit vin?  Any assistance is greatly appreciated.  Thank you for your consideration.

Scott

HI: Scott.
Well I wouldn’t lose sleep over it; if it is broken!
So the ’69 does not want to revile it’s true mileage to you ah….
  ;)

If you would like to have the odometer repaired try one these shops for a price quote // To see what they can do for you..

And if you want to replace it  try:,
Classic Industries    (Firebird Catalog)
At www.classicindustries.com

And at last; as far as a suggestion for a title search you might want to try your local Department of Motor Vehicles  // The only kicker is you have to prove ownership, paid receipts etc.

Hope This Can Be Of Some Help! ;D

I am a NFTAC, Member and I was at one time an auto mechanic working for a local GM dealer here in my home town back in the mid-to late '80's now  I currently enjoy working on my own Pontiac's especially on my '85 T/A // making maintenance repairs, repairs, modifications and performance modifications I also enjoy meeting and /or talking to other Firebird & T/A owners an get into technical debates;hopefully just as long as the debate's doesn't go into a to heated argument.
