More horsepower in an '85 Trans Am
« on: March 01, 2018, 01:15:08 PM »
Okay I need opinions or more like answers, since my Ď85 Trans Am has a 305 could I make it reach at least 400 hp? And what would be the best mods to do to the engine to get as close to that number as possible? And would I need to modify my existing factory suspension if I get around 3 to 400 hp? Iím not really familiar with stuff about the f-body cars.

I would slap a set of good heads on it with the corresponding camshaft resulting in as much compression as you can afford both in expense and fuel costs. Make sure you have a good exhaust. 350hp can be made with a 305 and good heads. 400hp on a low  budget will be tough.
