I have a recently restored 1970 Trans Am Ram III 4 speed Was running great last week, then this week would not start. No clicking, no whirring, no nothing. Battery was 8 years old so I changed it. Checked fuses and connections.  No change.  Replaced ignition switch. No change. Replaced solenoid. No change. Circuit tested ignition wire on solenoid - no light, so I think starter is ok.

As a manual, car has a neutral safety switch at top of clutch. It was not connected, but previous owner bypassed it by connecting the two purple wires together, which is why is probably had been starting ok. Not sure why all of sudden it would quit.  Re-stripped purple wires and bypassed switch again. No change.  Reversed the bypass and connected purple wires to switch. No change.
I don't think it is the neutral safety switch - it looks new and it was being bypassed. I am out of ideas.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks much.
