{78 TA Non-tilt Steering Column / To Tilt Column Conversion }

To try to make a long story short; yes you can; if you can manage finding a tilt wheel steering column from out of a ’78 T/A, from an Auto Chop Shop / it should take you about 2.25 Hrs. to 3.50 Hrs. to install if your in no hurry, I my self preformed this procedure to one of my cars for the very first time when I was just a young teenager,
(That is to say it’s not to hard to do)

I would like to point out to you that you may half to do some miscellaneous repairs and or work, before installation such as:

.Repaint the steering column to match your original steering column.

.Transferring your original Steering wheel too the replacement
  steering column.

.You may want to transfer your Ignition Lock / course on the other
hand Auto bone Yards usually leave the keys in the ignition so if your
not to picky that transfer is optional.

.Inspect all of the electrical an non-electrical components for damage
  or defects:

Wiring, Ignition Switch, Turn Signal Lever (Cruse Control Switch if so
equipped), Tilt Lever, Neutral Start Back-up Switch, Hazard Warning
  Switch & Knob etc.

.You may want to purchase a shop service manual or manuals of the
year or years to familiarize yourself with the electrical diagrams and
components if needed, especially if your forced to choose a another
year ’76,’77,79,80 etc. etc. G.M. is known to make some changes
from year to year with some electrical! ( To Play It Safe )

                                                 Hope This Helps  ;D
