1979 spare tire questions
« on: April 07, 2008, 03:08:26 PM »
When I bought my '79 T/A the other month I was fortunate enough to get the original space saver tire with it. My question is how are you supposed to use it? Besides the obvious of bolting it on, the thing looks too small to be a proper spare even though it's the correct spare. Is there some special inflation needed? I've only had to mess with modern spare tires and this looks a little different. Lastly, anyone know of any place that will sell replacement tires for these? I wish to keep the stock space saver but don't trust the original rubber enough to drive on. Thanks.

there is a can of air to fill it up. check out eBay for one. there still around. the bracket that holds it to the wheel for storage is pretty hard to find.
