2200 rpm then dead

i have a 91 gta with a 5.7l motor whenever i mash on the gas it shuts down to idle with no throttle responce for about 2 seconds then it kicks back on i have no idea what this could be i am not showing any error codes and the car idles normal any help would be greatly appriciated

Check your main fuel relay.  I had a minivan that did this and that was the problem.
