Searched Out
« on: May 11, 2007, 02:02:04 PM »
I am almost at my wits end.  I have a 1995 Firebird Formula 5.7 liter w/auto transmission.  I need a top for my console in dark grey and I cannot find one.  Even the the haystack.   ;)

Can anyone help me?  I can be reached at chery@wb4me.com

Thanks bunches,
Chery

HI, Chery

To Help; Taking the frustrations out of buying parts!

When you say “I need a top for my console” do you mean the Console lid (Door) or the A/T Shifter Plate etc.?

Not knowing what “haystacks” you tried, we have to weed out what  stacks you tried one by one see below:

Try the following:

Year One // at www.yearone.com

Classic Industries // at www.classicindustries.com

Or you may-be able to try your local Pontiac Dealer // Parts Dept. however to best help the parts dept. Personal, you will need your cars VIN. Number to help them find your part / and or parts but because of your cars age the chance of buying the part through the Dealer is slim.

You can also pay a friendly visit to your local auto Chop - Shop;
(Auto Salvage Yard) the only drawback is you or some-one will have to pull it.

Also, and finally when buying colored parts to help to eliminate the frustration’s some times color names can be deceiving for example see bellow:

Dark-Gray – can also be called Charcoaled – Gray or Graphite

Black - can also be called Ebony

To help to determine what the colors of your cars interior and exterior are; it is also helpful to know your cars color codes that are found on your cars parts identification tag // see your cars,
{Service Parts Identification  /// Do Not Remove} Cars RPO’s tag to help aide in color identification.

Hope This Can Be Of Some Help. :)

I am a NFTAC, Member and I was at one time an auto mechanic working for a local GM dealer here in my home town back in the mid-to late '80's now  I currently enjoy working on my own Pontiac's especially on my '85 T/A // making maintenance repairs, repairs, modifications and performance modifications I also enjoy meeting and /or talking to other Firebird & T/A owners an get into technical debates;hopefully just as long as the debate's doesn't go into a to heated argument.

Justin,
I went to YearOne site and they had exactly what I was looking for.  Thank you so much for that information.

Have a great day!
