Head Lamp Motor questions.
« on: October 12, 2008, 07:39:03 AM »
Hi Newbie to this board & TA ownership.

I have an 86 TA.
Both headlamps do not come up.

I can turn the manual knob to pop them up & the lights do turn on.

is there a seperate power source for the lamps.   Could it be that a fuse is the problem with both motors?

I have not had a chance to check out the fuse box. anyone know the location? is it the typical under dash drivers side?

if both motors are bad what years fit if I have to replace?   I see on ebay everyone has 87 to 92?

Chances are that the headlamp motors died and the last owner cranked them closed.  You can find the pieces to rebuild the motor from Classic for a LOT less than replacing the whole motor.  If the motor doesn't run, it may be a bad actuator...but I'm your dime-store mechanic, so it's just a guess.

Welcome to the board and to TA ownership.  It's an adventure all it's own...lol!
