1989 formula
« on: March 16, 2009, 08:25:36 AM »
Hi everyone,
I am interested in purchasing a 1989 formula firebird. It has the 5.0 tuned port, auto tranny, t- tops, etc. Does anyone know the HP figures for this car? It has 129,000 kms. (80,000 miles) on it and looks in great shape. Anything to look at before purchasing? Any help is appriciated. I owned a 1988 firebird brand new back in the day, base V-6 was all I could afford, never had a problem with it.
Thanks in advance.

According to ThirdGen.org, it should get 195 hp and and 295 lb/ft of torque at 4400 and 3200 rpms, respectively.  Of course, that varies with your gear ratio in the rear axle and whether you have a manual or automatic.  Manuals get more horses and torque.
