how do u take the front plate cover off of a 2000 firebird?

can someone help me out here? i have had my firebird for 6 years but never put the front plate on, i moved to another state and im tired of getting pulled over for it . i dont know how the cover comes off. i can see 2 screws but they seem to be worn down and im not sure if thats whats holding it up anyways. and one more thing i cant find a plate holder anywhere! so if someone could help me out that would be awesome. thanks tiff
