Q: How hard is it to
convert a hardtop to t-tops? I’m thinking of potentially doing it to mine with
the smaller t-tops (Hurst? Or Fischer?). Any advice from anyone who has done it?
A: It's not that hard. I
did a 2nd gen and a 3rd gen with no issues. If you do correctly and use good
seals and install right there is no issues. But it is a lot of work.
It’s your car, do what you want to do. Now the real
question is what T-Tops will fit that generation properly. You will have to
research and compare roof profiles so it doesn’t look off or poorly done. 2nd
gen and 3rd gen won’t work on a 1st gen car. Do you research and make sure you
put in weld in frame connectors to strengthen the chassis.
