Drop Base Air Fllter

Q:     Just curious if anyone has found a way to get an Edelbrock performer RPM intake under a early ‘70s Formula hood? I have read you need to move to a Trans Am hood with different air cleaner.

I noticed when I closed the hood and smash play dough between the hood and air cleaner it was around 3/4 of an inch at its worst if I remember right. I would need a real low drop base if there is any hope at all.

I just hear its the best intake for a Pontiac and I don’t want to give up my hood.

Dustin Ehrlin

A:     There is a drop base air filter setup from Pro Touring F-Body.
